Masuk Girls Cross Country held their senior night this past week, crowning the seniors and hosting a celebration commemorating them. Underclassmen made posters, bought gifts, brought food, and prepared speeches for the occasion.

“The senior night celebration just seems to get better every year,” said girls varsity Coach Jennifer Nyquist “The underclassmen went out of their way to make it very special and personalized for each of the seniors.”
From speeches to gifts to posters, underclassmen made the celebration sentimental and sincere. The gifts were personalized for each senior and their interests, as well as each speech consisting of personal memories with the seniors.
“I loved the posters, the presents and the speeches,” said senior Nikol Kupieva. “It was really heartfelt.”
The personalization wasn’t all that was noticed; effort was also appreciated. Each senior received up to three posters handmade by the underclassmen.

“Seeing how much thought and effort was put into all the posters especially,” said senior captain Brigitte Larivierre. “It makes you feel so loved and appreciated.”
All in all, the celebration was a roaring success, bringing together a team and appreciating the seniors in both a fun and sentimental way.
“I thought it was the greatest celebration I’ve ever been a part of,” said senior Kiersten Meadows. “I’ve never been celebrated so well and known so well by a group of people other than my cross country team.”
