Sophomores attended the first DECA meeting on Thursday, October 1st, which welcomed new members and outlined this year’s competitive events.
Lily Barnes, pictured holding a miniature Oscar, shares her experience as a newcomer.
“The first DECA meeting was really fun; this is my first year doing it. The people were really nice, and I’m really excited.”
In addition, the meeting covered a variety of topics, including event competitions, exams and fundraising opportunities.
“I think I’m probably going to do a duo competition, but I’m interested to see how the year is going to play out. So far I really like it,” said Barnes.
DECA officers were thrilled at the number of students joining this year. Thus, the meeting concluded with a celebratory treat – popcorn.
