On September 17, while supporting the girls freshman team, Masuk JV girls volleyball reflected on their initial experience with the season. Millie King, a sophomore and libero on the team said, “I like how we’re all a team, and we all pick each other up when we’re struggling, and we’re always there to support each other, doing good or bad in the game.” The team doesn’t only stay connected on the court. Sophia Infante, a sophomore setter said, “I definitely made more friends on the team that I wasn’t [friends with] before, and I think I’m way more outgoing now.” Additionally, sophomore outside Julianna Gale, reflected on how the team interacts outside of volleyball. “The family aspect of how we’re all, like, so tight knit and close and how we all support each other, whether it’s academically, athletically, personally. Everyone’s so supportive and happy to be with each other.” Finally, Shanaya Modi, who is a sophomore outside on varsity said, “[Masuk girl’s volleyball] brings together a sense of community within the girls, and it shows how basketball or football are not the only sports that go around at Masuk, and that we should have more acknowledgment for those who play other sports.” The Masuk JV girls volleyball team is ready for the rest of their season, and excited to emphasize the importance of community within a sports environment!
