Wednesday night’s girls’ lacrosse matchup versus Stratford/Bunnell was in support of the One Love Foundation, an organization aimed to educate young adults about healthy relationships to end relationship abuse. While supporting a meaningful cause and spreading awareness, the girls battled hard on the field to come out with a 15-2 win against Stratford/Bunnell.
Our Masuk Panthers set the tone for the game early, with goals from Jessica Minch, Amelia Logan, Samantha Henry, Juliana Pagano, Lilly Cameron, and Cecelia MacIntyre. The defense also played a key role, only conceding twice.
“I think we played really well and executed our plan and performance. I think the defense had a really good game considering we only let two goals in,” junior defender Ella Picci said. “We have some games coming up this week, Notre Dame today and New Milford on Friday and we should walk away with another win.”
Two successes in one, the girls walked away with a tremendous win, while supporting a cause that benefits the community. As a team, they raised $1,000 and spread awareness of abusive relationships.
