The writers and editors of The Masuk Free Press strive to serve the students of Masuk High School, by informing, entertaining and inspiring them. This paper is published by the school for its students and staff and is created by students without censorship from faculty or administration but with dedication to the principles of good journalism and fair play. Student editors decide what deserves publication. Editorials which reflect the majority opinion of the editors of The Masuk Free Press are unsigned; an opinion which reflects the thinking of a staff member not necessarily endorsed by the student editors is signed by the writer. Letters to the editors are encouraged and will be published, limited only by space and relevance to student life. EMILY DIAL– Emily Dial is a senior at Masuk High School who is writing for The Masuk Free Press for her third year. She has written for the paper as a staff writer and science and technology editor, and is now one of the editors-in-chief. She enjoys writing stories about politics, science and her local community. Emily hopes to study neuroscience, sociology and the visual arts in the future, and she plans to pursue a career as a neurosurgeon.
EMMA MATTINGLY– Emma Mattingly is a senior at Masuk High School who has been writing for The Masuk Free Press for two years. She is currently one of the managing editors and enjoys writing stories about politics, local events, and the Masuk community. Emma is planning on studying political science and journalism, and she hopes for a career in law in the future.
ARTS AND ENTERTAINMENT EDITOR
KATIE ZIMMER- Katie Zimmer is a senior at Masuk High School who has been writing with the Masuk Free Press for two years. She now holds the position of the arts and entertainment editor after being a part of the staff writers. She enjoys writing stories about the arts, the Masuk community, and the news. Katie plans on majoring in exercise science or health sciences to become a physical therapist in her future.
ALANNA PARILLO– Alanna Parrillo is a senior at Masuk High School. She has been writing for Masuk Free Press for two years and has recently become the editor for the News section of the paper. Alanna is planning to study journalism in college as she hopes for a career in journalism in the future.
ERIKA POTTERF- Erika Potterf is a senior at Masuk High School. This is her second year with the Masuk Free Press. Erika enjoys writing about current events, Masuk events, the country, and the world. She hopes to continue her writing career throughout college.
AIDAN SILVESTRO– Aidan Silvestro is a sophomore at Masuk High School. This is his first year with the paper and as a staff writer. He enjoys writing about news, current events and politics. Aidan hopes to stay with the paper until his senior year.
TALIA BARNHART– Talia Barnhart is a sophomore at Masuk High School. This is her first year working on the paper and she hopes to continue until her senior year. Barnhart enjoys writing about current Masuk events, news, and politics.
