On Thursday, October 23rd, the Masuk Girls Volleyball team, ranked No. 2 in the Southwestern Conference (SWC), defeated Weston in the semifinals in a three-set match. The first set was tightly contested, with both teams exchanging points consistently. Masuk was able to pull ahead in the final moments to secure the set. In the second set, the Panthers gained momentum and won by a more comfortable margin. The third set was close once again, with Weston narrowing the gap at several points, but Masuk held their composure and closed out the match, winning all three sets. Junior Mia Tyler stood out with several effective setter dumps that caught the opposing team off guard, while senior libero Mary-Kate Boyle led the team in digs, keeping many rallies alive. Senior Lily Yerrington contributed with a series of aces that added crucial points. Masuk will now face No. 1 ranked Joel Barlow in the Southwestern Conference Finals on October 28.
