On Thursday, October 16th, the Masuk Girls soccer team stepped onto the field for one of their last times during their regular season. Senior night, infamous in the program for its extravagant celebrations and anticipated arrival, is an annual event where teams and parents come together to celebrate the soon-to-be graduates who have given their heart, effort, and time into the program for years. “This has been something that I’ve been looking forward to since I was a freshman, because we put so much effort into everybody’s senior night in past years. To see what they’ve done for ours has been so exciting” says senior Alex Cecchino, who has played on the girl’s varsity team since her freshman year in 2022. The Panthers beat the Joel Barlow Falcons 2-1, wrapping up the night in a emotional victory for the girls. While senior night isn’t their last game, the girls move to playoffs and the CIAC tournament to wrap up their season in this final month.

Masuk Girls Soccer celebrated Senior Night with an emotional 2-1 victory over Joel Barlow. Seniors Ella McGee and Amelia Stephens each scored, sealing a memorable win on their special night. The field was beautifully decorated with posters honoring the seniors, creating a heartfelt atmosphere. Before the 7 p.m. game, a 6 p.m. ceremony featured juniors delivering touching speeches to the seniors, adding to the night’s significance. Junior Ryane Nelson shared, “It made the night more emotional and stressful, but also changed the energy to more energetic and charged.” The blend of celebration, reflection, and competitive spirit made Senior Night a memorable event for players, families, and fans alike.
