Masuk officially closed out its 2024-2025 Spirit Week in the only way that felt right: in true Panther style. Students came together wearing red white and black and their best Masuk gear to represent their school and teams. Seniors showed up and showed out in their jerseys, while plenty of students wore their jerseys and school merch. The committed students ended the week in boas, tutus and facepaint in a vibrant display of school spirit.

Students enjoyed shortened periods leading up to the pep rally, which progressed in its usual fashion; the infamous, and not-at-all-awkward senior run, the booing of the freshman, and Castillo’s infamous roller coaster. Masuk CSI’s case concluded with the exciting arrest of Mr. Parkhurst and the consequential chase that followed. The seniors dominated every game except for guess that song, and it was safe to say that students left the gym amped up for the homecoming game against Bethel. Later that night, the student second was packed and loud as the Panthers took the victory. Friday night wins are always sweet, but taking it home on homecoming is particularly satisfying.

Spirit Week came to its usual end in the Masuk gym for the homecoming dance, which left something to be desired. While students appreciated that the lights were off the whole time, the DJ’s mixes were, for lack of a better term, “mid,” which led to many students making an early exit. Perhaps if the dance didn’t start at 6 pm the vibes would’ve been better, but it’s hard to call a party successful when you have guests out the door by 7. Homecoming is really what you make of it, and those who stayed enjoyed a night of dancing with their friends.

In Surmise, the 2024-2025 Spirit Week was a success. It was the student participation, the costumes, and the Panther pride that made the week, and Masuk is truly lucky to have a community so willing to join in on the fun.
